Border service authorities of Caspian states meet in Baku

Authorities of the border services of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan,
Turkmenistan, Iran and Russia had a meeting in Baku, Trend cites the
State Border Service of Azerbaijan.

The sides discussed the state of affairs and tendencies in the Caspian
region. They talked on cooperation prospects between the border
structures. They noted the importance of developing a cooperation
mechanism for Caspian security.

The authorities discussed results of the previous summit of the heads
of Caspian states in Baku on November 18 and the agreement on
cooperation in security.

The heads of border services achieved an agreement on development and
discussion of the protocol on cooperation for security in the Caspian.

They noted the necessity to continue efforts in fighting international
terrorism, illegal migration, smuggling, illegal narcotics trafficking
and development of cooperation in the spheres.
