Yerevan has paid out 70% of pensions, worth 3.5 billion drams,
Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artur Grigoryan said at a
government meeting, commenting on the premier's question on pension
payments, ARKA reports.
The minister noted that there have been no queues or complaints. All
offices of Armenian post service (Aypost) have been paying pensions
since February 2. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has an
agreement with Aypost. Pensioners may receive pensions at post offices
or have them delivered home.
Pensions were paid on February 2-5 only at post offices. The payment
process since February 7 is realized according to the following
schedule: from 9.00 to 16.00 (local time) pensions will be delivered
by postmen, from 16.00 to 18.00 they will be issued at post offices.
According to statistics of July 1, 2010, Armenia has over 521,300
pensioners. An average pension is equal to 24,570 drams ($1 - 363.49
drams).
