Baku receives Lithuanian delegation

Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev received today in Baku a delegation headed by Lithuanian Premier Irena Degutene, the press service of the Ministry of Energy says, Trend reports.


The sides discussed  the prospects of cooperation in the energy sector, in particular, the issue of the pipeline project Odessa-Brody-Plock-Gdansk. Aliyev said that Azerbaijan is interested in this project, and that the project could play an important role in ensuring the energy security of the Baltic States, including Lithuania.

The project of pipeline "Brody-Plock-Gdansk" is managed by International Pipeline Enterprise "Sarmatia" that involves SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan), Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation Ltd. (GOGC), Ukrainian Ukrtransnafta,  Polish Przedsiebiorstwo Eksploatacji Rurociagow Naftowych Przyjazn SA and Lithuanian AB Klaipedos Nafta with equity participation of 24.75 percent for the major parties and one percent  for the Lithuanian company.
