Azerbaijan and Russia's Stavropol Territory signed an agreement on Wednesday on economic, scientific and cultural cooperation, Trend reports.
Foreign turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia totalled $1.8 billion in 2009, which is some 60% higher than the average turnover between CIS countries, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Ali Gasanov said.
Foreign trade turnover with Stavropol reached $123 million last year, twice the 2004 showing, the deputy premier also said. However, turnover between the former Soviet republic and the Russian region dropped 30% in 2009 from $200 million in 2008.
