The authorities of the Tuapse district in Krasnodar Territory have
promised to keep prices for socially significant products at the same
levels, despite the blockage of the federal highway connecting Dzhubga
and Sochi, which was destroyed by a landslide, the press office of
the district administration said on Thursday, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the local administration, the movement of the landslide
in the port city of Tuapse began on February 8 and damaged about 50
meters of roadbed, while the road slipped by more than six meters.
Vehicular traffic through the damaged section of the highway is
prohibited and traffic is being redirected via a detour through the
Shaumyansky Pass. Delivery of essential goods to ensure that life in
local settlements carries on with the help of rail and sea transport.
