Construction of an oil pipeline from Iran to Armenia is scheduled to begin in 2011, said Armenia Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan, ARKA reports.
Construction work will last for two years. The volume of investments in the project on the territory of Armenia is about $ 100 million. The pipeline will allow to import oil products to Armenia not only from Iran but also from the Persian Gulf. Current demand is about 400 tons per year, and the pipeline will not only meet the existing demand, but will also take into account the perspective growth in 25 years, said the Minister.
