The ministry of energy and oil of Venezuela officially stated on Tuesday that according to the results of the international certification it is the top country in the world in the sphere of oil resources, RIA Novosti reports. The volume of oil resources is estimated up to 296.5 billion of barrels.
The second place is taken by Saudi Arabia (266 billion of barrels).
In October 2010 the authorities of Venezuela stated that they are to develop oil in new deposits. For this purpose, $80 billion worth of investment is needed.
