Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ordered Prime Minister Vladimir
Putin and Vice-Premier Victor Zubkov to prepare proposals on improving
the situation on the wheat market, RIA Novosti reports.
He noted that targeted distribution of wheat will prevent the prices
on meat and dairy products from rising.
He noted that the regional authorities will need to control the prices
in their regions.
Zubkov informed the president about the mechanism of targeted
distribution. He said that forage wheat for the Intervention Fund was
purchased at 50% of the market price. Regions need to conclude deals
with the Agriculture Ministry on controlling the situation, monitoring
of prices fir wheat and prevention of the prices from rising.
