The construction of a new dam Nargesi started in the Iranian province of Fars, Iran News reported.
The main aim of the dam is the production of electricity and the water supply to the agricultural areas and the cities of Karzerun and Farashband and to industrial zone of South Zagres.
The height of the dam will be 77.5 m, length along the crest of the dam - 600 meters, the width of the crest - 10 m.
The construction of the dam "Nargesi" should take 60 months with the volume of investments of about 100 million dollars.
Dam Nargesi is built on the river Jara, 45 km south-east of Karzerun and 60 km south-west of Shiraz.
