Most mini bus drivers in Tbilisi are on strike over the tender organized by the mayor’s office, Georgia Online reports.

Traffic is congested in Tbilisi, especially on Varketili, Moscow Avenue, Gldani and Digomi. Buses and the subway are overcrowded.

Mini bus drivers are due to hold protests at the Square of Roses.

A Dedakalaki deputy, Kakha Kukava, said that the problem will cause rising prices for mini bus tickets, as the companies that won the tender plan to collect daily fees worth 20-40 lari from March 1.

The tender winners are Tbilline, Capital Group, Public Car and Tbil Car.
