98 settlements in Dagestan left without electricity

98 settlements were left today without electricity in Dagestan because of the worsening weather conditions, Ria-Dagestan reports.

According to the head of the press service of the Dagestani energy company, Murtazali Gitinasulov, the accidents were caused by ice formations on the power lines, as well as strong winds and heavy snowfalls in the area of the Derbent, Karabudakhkent, Sergokalinskom and Tabasaran districts.


Emergency crews are working on restoring electricity by the end of the week.
