Armenian foreign debt increases

Armenian foreign debt has increased in the last 12 months by $332.3 million and reached $3299 million in late December, ARKA cites the National Statistics Service of Armenia.


The debt of Armenian government is 82.9% or $2736 million of the sum, it increased by 11% or $270.5 million, compared with December 30, 2009.


The Central Bank of Armenia owes 17.1% or $562.6 million, rising by 12.4% or $61.9 million in 2010.
Armenia owes 68.3% ($2253.7 million) of the debt to international finance organizations, rising by 11.9% compared with December 30, 2009. Armenian debt to the World Bank is $1265.5 million, or 38.4% of the total foreign debt sum. It rose by 4.3% in the period.


The debt to the International Monetary Fund reached $740.8 million (or 22.5%). It increased by 26.3% in 2010.
Armenia owes $146.7 million to the Asian Development Bank, according to December 30, 2010, compared with $126.5 million on December 30, 2009.
Armenia owes $62 million to the International Fund of Agriculture Development, compared with $60.4 million in 2009. It owes $28.7 million to OPEC, compared with $25 million in 2009.

The state debt is $1045.3 million or 31.7% to bilateral creditors. Armenia owes $500 million to Russia (no changes since 2009), Japan $374.4 million (increased by 38.4%, from $270.6 million).
Armenia owes $132.7 million to Germany, dropping by 7%, USA – dropping by 4.6% and reaching $33.1 million, France – dropping from $4.83 million to $4.33 million.
