Azerbaijani Railways and the World Bank will strengthen their cooperation to implement a project to provide support for railway transport and trade as a part of the state program on railway system development in Azerbaijan for 2010-2014, Trend reports.
The agreement to intensify meetings was reached during a meeting between the Azerbaijani Railways and a WB delegation on Monday.
During the meeting, Azerbaijani Railways Deputy Chief Gurban Nazirov spoke about the work conducted in the framework of the program. In particular, he noted that as a result of a previously announced tender, the proposals of five companies regarding the purchase of locomotives are being considered.
The project manager from the WB, Ben Geridjke, highly assessed the project and voiced recommendations for preventing delays in subsequent activity.
