Iran continues increasing mining output

Statistics shows that Iran keeps increasing production, sales and export of mining industry products, IRIB News reports.


Iran produced 11.555 million tons of crude steel from March 21, 2010, to February 19, 2011. The country produced 9.753 million tons last year, which demonstrates a growth of 18%.


Iran produced 15.362 million tons of hot and cold rolled steel, long-length and steel constructions. Production increased by 75%.


Cathode copper production increased by 6% and exceeded 204,000 tons, compared with 193,000 tons last year.


Aluminum bars production increased by 7%, reaching 276,000 tons, aluminum powder – by 13%, reaching 214,000 tons.


Production of refined iron ore in form of iron concentrates and powder reached 24.320 million, increasing by 4.6%.


Sales and export of steel, copper and aluminum increased from 14% to 41%.
