Strengthening of Russia’s leading role in forming economic cooperation between the Caspian states and promotion of partner relations in intensifying inter-regional links are the main topics of an international conference in Astrakhan. The conference is entitled “The Caspian – a territory of development: search for new forms of Caspian cooperation”, ITAR-TASS reports.
The organization committee of the conference said that experts from Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Iran plan talks on the transport strategy of the Caspian region according to the North-South and East-West scheme, development of new energy routes, modernization of the region, a new integration model and formation of a common information and humanitarian space.
The conference was organized by a non-profit organization, the Institute of the Caspian Cooperation.
