Armenia plans to abolish transition to daylight saving time next year

The draft law "On Accounting for time on the territory of Armenia", which provides for cancellation of the transition to daylight saving time, may enter into force probably in late March 2012, ARCA reports.

The new draft law has been developed by the Ministry of Economy and sent to the relevant departments and agencies. The purpose of the adoption of the law is to reduce the calculation time in Armenia, in accordance with the time zone and the geographical location of Armenia, such as changing the time zone from the fourth to the third zone of the international time system.

Since autumn 2011, Russia will cease the practice of transition to winter time.
