Kazakhstan will transport almost all oil it produces through Russia, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, News Kazakhstan reports.
Nazarbayev said that the decision is due to the high capacity of the North Caspian pipeline, which can transport up to 67 million tons of oil annually.
Putin confirmed Russia’s readiness to split the oil extracted in the North Caucasus equally, even despite Kazakh deposits being less fruitful.
