Georgia to build road between Armenia and Ajaria

Georgia plans to build a new road that will connect the ports of Poti and Batumi and the Black Sea resorts with Armenia. This was announced today during his visit to Yerevan by the head of the Ministry of Regions of Georgia Ramaz Nikolaishvili after a meeting with the Minister of Transport and Communication of Armenia Manuk Vartanyan, Business-Georgia reports.

According to Nikolaishvili, the road will be built through the Khulo gorge and will be convenient not only for tourists from Armenia, but also for the inhabitants of Akhalkalaki.

The memorandum signed today by the parties makes it possible for Georgian and Armenian companies to take part in the tender for the road construction.

In addition, Georgia plans to repair the road leading to Lars.
