Armavia and Zvartnots resolve dispute

The International Airports of Armenia Company and Armavia have resolved their dispute, the head of the Civilian Aviation Department, Armen Movsisyan, told a press-conference on March 21, NEWS.am reports.


He noted that the International Airports of Armenia and Armavia were invited to his organization on March 18. The sides signed a trilateral memorandum.


The owner of Armavia, Mikhail Bagdasarov, and the CEO of the International Airports of Armenia, Marselo Venden, assured that the dispute regarding Armavia's debt had been resolved by means of a mutually beneficial agreement.


Bagdasarov said that Armavia has a three-month debt outstanding. Armavia said that the International Airports of Armenia has a one-month debt outstanding. Bagdasarov did not clarify the exact sum of the debt.

Bagdasarov said that specialists had studied the case and confirmed the debt. The companies promised that their disputes would not affect passenger services.


Armavia halted all flights for an hour on March 16, as a protest against high prices set by the company International Airports of Armenia. The company International Airports of Armenia did not service flights by Armavia due to the debt.
