Poland hosts talks on Brody-Plotsk oil pipeline

The Polish Senate has held talks on the Brody-Plotsk oil pipeline. The Senate head Bogdan Borusevich, senators, the ministers of regional development, the economy, state property and foreign affairs of Poland snd diplomats from Azerbaijan and Ukraine were at the meeting. Sarmatia's CEO Vitaly Beglyarbekov and Director General Sergey Skripka were also at the talks.
Sarmatia published a message on Tuesday, saying that Beglyarbekov presented information on construction of the pipeline as part of the Euro-Asian Oil Transport Corridor.
The project is to be realized by late 2015. Sarmatia has concluded the feasibility studies of the project. An environmental report is being prepared. The project was classified as a profitable one. The EU program "Infrastructure and Environment" provided finances.
The Odessa-Brody oil pipeline was launched in February 2011, transporting Caspian oil to Europe.
The project will improve the energy security of Europe. More state support is needed for fulfilment of the project without delays. It requires the signing of an inter-governmental agreement.

Beglyarbekov presented the project of the Euro-Asian Oil Transport Corridor in Brussels last week, during a session of the group for oil and gas security in Europe, organized by DG Energy.

EU officials and representatives of European oil companies took part in the presentation. The group formed clear proposals on improving oil and gas supplies to the EU and provision of oil products in two temporary forecasts – until 2020 and until 2050.

A set of oil and gas projects related to infrastructure and mechanisms of their realization were presented.
