Krasnodar received 5 billion rubles in 2010 to support agro-industry, Vice-Governor of the region Evgeny Gromyko said at an expanded board of the Agriculture Ministry, Yuga.ru reports.
Gromyko said that state support allowed harvest profitability to reach 19%, despite unfavorable weather conditions. 10 million tons of grain were harvested, it is the second record in history of the region.
The vice-governor noted that an agreement on financing agriculture in 2011 will benefit preparations for spring seeding.
Agrarians were ordered to plant 50 million hectares, including at least 30 million hectares of wheat cultures. This will allow 85 million tons to be harvested. One of priority goals is to keep development of anima-breeding positive. Another goal is increase the lands of sugar beetroot, corn and soya.
