The prospects for Chinese investment in the Armenian economy will be discussed during today's session of the Armenian-Chinese intergovernmental commission in Yerevan, ARKA reports.
"The volume of Chinese investment in the Armenian economy is still small, despite the high level of political and economic relations. From 1991 to 2011, total investments amounted to $1.3 billion, " Deputy Economy Minister Ara Petrosyan said.
The volume of Armenian-Chinese trade turnover has doubled in the last three years, amounting to $436.8 million.
Exports from Armenia to China have increased by 73.6%, amounting to about $31 million, while imports grew by 42.6%, amounting to to $405.8 million.
