The Council of the Armenian Central Bank has taken the decision to increase the refinancing rate by 0.25% and fix it as 8.5%, News Armenia reports.
In March 2011 the level of inflation was registered at 0.8%.
The Council said that there was a slump for goods on international markets and to prevent inflation it was necessary to encourage the agricultural business, tighten financial and credit conditions, and conduct other anti-inflation measures.
During 2010, the refinancing rate increased fix times and rose from 5 to 7.25%.
