Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has ordered his deputy, Igor Sechin, to discuss the basis of the formula for determination of gas prices for Ukraine, Ukrainian Premier Nikolai Azarov said, commenting on the talks with Putin, ITAR-TASS reports.
Sechin will discuss the issue in Ukraine on April 19.
Azarov ordered his deputy, Andrei Kluyev, and Minister of Energy and the Coal Industry, Yuri Boiko, to “use all arguments” and comparison data on Russian gas supplies to EU states and Ukraine.
Putin’s press-secretary, Dmitry Peskov, noted that Sechin will exchange views on the prices for gas sold to Europe and Ukraine.
Azarov said that the gas deal signed by the previous government was “especially disadvantageous”.
