Construction of the largest multi-purpose dam in the west of Iran, "Mashura", has begun in the province of Lorestan, Iran.ru reports, quoting Iriba News.
When completed, the dam will produce 298 gigawatts of electricity hourly, and will provide 36 thousand hectares in the districts of Kuhdeshta, Rumeshkana and Tarhan with a system of forced irrigation.
The Mashura Dam will be 114 metres high. The volume of the dam's reservoir will amount to about 1 billion cubic meters.
