The Iranian Cabinet has bveen reduced from 21 to 19 members, ILNA reports.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has merged with the Ministry of Roads and Transport, while the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Trade have also merged. The new structure and authority of the new ministries will be determined in two years.
The reduction of the ministries is part of the fifth five-year plan. The program started this year. It will reduce the number of ministries to 17.
The Iranian parliament passed the bill on uniting the National Youth Organization and the Ministry of Physical Education, to establish the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which has not yet been formed.
