Azerbaijan to develop transport to supply oil to world markets

The construction of additional trunk pipelines by 2025 is necessary increase the annual capacity by at least 80 million tons in order to address the shortage of oil transport infrastructure in the Caspian region, said Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy Minister Gulmammad Javadov during the fifth Oil and Gas Trading and Transportation Conference, Trend reports.

He said oil production in the Caspian region will increase by 100 and 150 million tons respectively in 2015 and 2025. In 2013 the country will face the lack of transportation capacities to deliver oil to the world markets. Accordingly in order to secure these supplies a construction of additional pipelines is required, as well as development of storage capacities of the Kazakh, Azerbaijani and Georgian ports.
