Yerevan-Moscow becomes first flight for new Russian plane

The latest Russian plane, the Sukhoi Superjet 100, has landed at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport today, on its first commercial flight. Armenia has ordered two such planes.

Russia’s Aeroflot will have Superjets in the near future as well. A contract on the purchase of 30 planes was signed in 2005. The first deliveries were to arrive in 2008, but were postponed, Russia-24 reports.

The first Superjet arrived at Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport on April 19. The plane was provided for Armavia. Head of Armavia Mikhail Bagdasarov, Director of the Sukhoi Company Mikhail Pogosyan, Russian Minister of Transport Igor Levitin and other officials were at the ceremony.
