Indian company to construct hydropower station in Georgia

In the next few days, the Ministry of Energy of Georgia will issue an agreement with an Indian company, "Continental Energy”, to build the 650-megawatt Khudoni hydro-electric power station, Georgian Prime Minister Nikoloz Gilauri announced today, News-Georgia reports.

The prime minister said the Indian company will invest $1 billion in the construction of the hydro-electric plant.

Already this year the company will begin preparatory work, while construction itself will begin in 2012.
