Turkey and Ukraine to monitor air space above Black Sea

The Ukrainian defense minister, Turkish General Staff and Staff of the NATO Commander of the United Forces in Europe signed a treaty on joint monitoring of air space over the Black Sea, Unian reports.

They will establish and maintain a system of data exchange on air space between the command point South in Odessa and the center for control and alert in Turkey’s Erzurum.

Head of the radiotechnician forces of the Ukrainian Air Force Command said that the document will strengthen ties between Ukraine and Turkey.

A similar deal was signed between Ukraine and Hungary in 2009, as part of the NATO program for data exchange.
