A ceremony of signing an intergovernmental agreement on the formation of a new international transport and transit corridor between Iran, Oman, Qatar, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took place today in Ashgabat, Trend reports.
The document was signed by the foreign ministers of the agreement's member-states.
The legal document will provide an optimal route between countries of Central Asia and ports of the Persian and Oman Gulfs. In addition, Russia and China could also get access to these markets, which would make the project more economically viable.
