Armavia buys A-320

The Armenian National airlines "Armavia" has bought an A-320 aircraft, and named it in honor of Ovaness Bagramyan - two times hero of the USSR, one of the most outstanding generals of WW II, reports Armenia-News.

"We had an idea to name a plane after Marshal Bargromyan. We bought this plane on the eve of the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of Victory Day and decided to name it in Bagromyan's honor", said the company's director, Norayr Belluyan.

He said that the plane, designed for 164 passengers, has been in operation in China and Singapore, but is still in very good condition. "The flight time of the plane is 30,000 hours, not much for this type of plane", the director said.

Beluyan also added that "Armavia" airlines have 8 planes (three A-3120s, three A-319s, a CRJ-200 and a YaK-42-VIP). "By the end of this year we are planning to buy two more planes and 6 more by the end of next year", he said.
