Deputy Chairman of the Dagestani government, Mukhtar Mejidov, the head of the Dagestani State Technical University, Tagir Ismailov, and the director general of Russkaya Electronica, Sayfulla Mamayev, were also at the meeting.
Magomedov thanked Agilent Technologies for supporting the university with modern equipment worth $9 million.
Galina Smirnova noted that visiting Dagestan leaves only positive impressions. She gave a short description of the company’s history: Agilent Technologies is the world leader in measuring equipment in the electronics, communications, biotechnologies and chemical analyses markets . The company was founded in 1999, with the restructuring of the Hewlett-Packard (HP) company.
The company had a turnover of $5.4 billion in 2010. It has offices in 110 countries with about 19,000 people employed.
Agilent Technologies provides local technical and service support and technical documentation in Russian.
Agilent Technologies signed a deal on establishment of a center for development of radio-electronic equipment basing on the company at the Dagestani State Technical University. The initiative is part of the innovative program of the president.
Agilent Technologies issued 30 licenses and 15 specialized packages of Agilent Advanced Design System within the deal. One ADS license is worth $350,000. A package of licenses is worth $200,000. The company also provided its methodological, exercise and lab assignment books.
