Researchers from the Caspian Institute of Fisheries have studied the sprat population, inhabiting the waters of the Caspian Sea, and found large reserves of this type - about 400 thousand tons. The researches have concluded that the fish could become a commercial product, the press service of the Caspian Fisheries Research Institute has informs, RIA-Novosti reports.
Once very popular Caspian sprat has been virtually absent at the market from the early 2000's, giving way to the Baltic fish.
