US to give loan for first Azerbaijani satellite

The Board of Directors of the US Ex-Im (Export-Import Bank of the USA) has voted for the loan agreement for the construction of the first Azerbaijani telecommunications satellite Azerspace.

The signing of the loan agreement for the construction of Azerspace is expected to take place in early May. The agreement will be signed by the Azerbaijani government, the US Ex-Im Bank and the French BNP Paribas (credit will be allocated from the funds borrowed by the US Ex-Im-ohm from the BNP Paribas), Turan reports.

Funds are provided for two years with a ten-year maturity. The construction costs of the satellite Azerspace are estimated at $ 120 million. Azerbaijan will cover 15% of the costs.
