The Zangezursky copper and molybdenum plant is the biggest tax-payer in Armenia, according to the first quarter of 2011, News.am reports.
The plant paid over $20 million, exceeding its tax payments in the same period of 2010 by a factor of 6.1. Success was achieved from higher prices for copper and molybdenum in 2010, at over $9000 per ton.
Armrosgazprom is the second largest tax-payer with $19.8 million of payments in the first quarter of 2011. The company increased payments by 40%.
Alex Grig is the third largest tax-payer, owned by Samvel Alexanyan. It paid $12.1 million.
Armtel takes 4th place ($8.37 million), followed by K-Telecom ($6.48 million). Orange Armenia is in 11th place with $3.45 million.
Flash paid about $5.1 million, reducing its contribution by 30% compared to 2010. It was in 4th place and dropped to 9th. City Petrol Group is in 6th place with $5.67 million-worth of payments.
Armenian Electric Networks paid $5.4 million to the Armenian governments coffers in the first quarter of 2011, taking 7th place.
