The chief adviser to the Iranian Minister of Energy, Hamid Chitchiyan, said that Iran has the potential to produce more than 15 thousand megawatts of electricity from wind power, IranNews reports, referring to Iriba News.
Hamid Chitchiyana said this conclusion is based on research conducted in order to identify opportunities for cost-effective production of electricity using wind power.
Hamid Chitchiyan noted that, over the next three years, Iran will annually produce wind turbines with a total capacity of 500 MW. This will allow the country to successfully compete in this field with foreign producers and even produce energy for export.
