Nabucco rising expenses not to affect realization

The expected rise of expenses of the Nabucco project will not affect its realization, Azerbaijani representative to the EU Rolan Kobia said on Thursday, Trend reports.


There are no exact figures. Previous estimations were made several years ago. The price for steal, labor have risen since then.


Nabucco gas pipeline construction is planned to start in 2013. It will be 3,900 km long with a cap of 31 billion cubic meters annually.


The participants in the project are OMV (Austria), MOL (Hungary), Bulgargaz (Bulgaria), Transgaz (Romania), Botas (Turkey) and RWE (Germany). Each has a share of 16.67%.


Azerbaijan, Iraq and Turkmenistan are considered the main gas suppliers for the pipeline.


The pipeline is worth 7.9 billion euro. However, the shareholders are reconsidering the price and expect to raise it.
