The secretary of the Iranian Fourth National Conference of the Marine Industry, Navid Abbaspur, has announced that the total number of vessels in Iranian shipping companies amounts to 165 units. He added that this year Iran is planning to build seven more ships, Iran News reports.
Navid Abbaspur noted that Iranian shipping companies own about 95% of all Iranian ships.
He also said that last year Iran spent approximately $ 80 million on development of coastal infrastructure and the construction of breakwaters and jetties. This year, this amount is expected to be increased by 40%.
