WB starts studying Azerbaijani living standards

The World Bank (WB) has started new monitoring of about 7,000 households in Azerbaijan to determine the standards of living and fulfillment of programs on social support, Trend reports.


Minister of Labor Fizuli Alekperov held a council on the issue. He ordered the launch of a self-support project, major reconstruction of social facilities of the ministry and improvement of the quality of services.


The minister also took measures for more support for social rehabilitation of under-aged children.


The self-support project is being realized within the framework of the new program for state social support.

The first pilot project started in the village of Vahidli in the Tovuzsky district. The village consists of 325 households with a population of 1,150 people. It is located 12 km from the district center and 5 km from the border of Armenia.
