The Chechen parliament has developed a project to reduce transit tax, Yuga.ru reports.
The bill concerns vehicles below 100 horse power and 100-150. Citizens pay 5 and 10 rubles per horse power relatively. Vehicles with 150-200 horse power will have the tax reduced from 15 to 5 rubles.
Aburashit Zakayev, chairman of the parliament committee for budget, banks and taxes, said that reducing the tax or even lifting it will affect the living standards of the Chechen population, RIA Novosti reports.
The bill has already been sent to other regions for approval.
