Seyed Reza Azimi, Director of the Department for Geological
Exploration of the Ministry of Industry and Mining, said that Iran
will soon start searching for gold deposits, Iran News reports.
There have been requests for exploration in 14 districts. Private
business may take part in the process.
Iran has 9 gold fields, 7 of them are used for extraction two are
being prepared. About 1.5 million tons of golden ore has been
extracted.
Azimi noted business activity in exploration. 2,378 requests from
private companies were filed to his ministry for participation.
