Russia, EU to sign deal on Southern Stream

Russia and EU will sign an inter-government deal on the Southern
Stream gas pipeline, and certain other agreements will be reached in
autumn, Russian Energy Minister Sergey Shmatko said, RIA Novosti
reports.


Russia and EU confirmed establishment of the joint gas council for
development of joint approaches and analysis of the situation on the
European gas market, Shmatko said at the project presentation for the
European Commission in Brussels.


EU will not put limitations on the Southern Stream. The project
involves construction of a gas pipeline from Russia to Europe along
the Black Sea bed, Gunther Oettinger said.
