Railway traffic on the Gremychaya-Kotelnikovo Privolzhskaya line has
been stopped after a collision of a train and a truck, only one-side
of the railway is active, RIA Novosti cites the Russian Railways
Company as saying.
Restoration of the railway continues. The area has been cleared for
laying of the new assembled rails and sleepers.
The accident happened at 15.10 (Moscow time). A truck driver neglected
the stop signals and continued his way over the tracks. The truck was
hit by the train. The driver and his passenger died. The train and 14
tankers with oil products went off the rails, a fire started.
Traffic was temporarily stopped. Ten cargo trains were halted.
