As compared to the previous month, total assets of Georgian commercial banks on May, 1 grew by 0.9 million lari ($ 1 = 1.67 lari), i.e. by 0.01 per cent, reaching 10,682.7 million lari, Trend reports referring to the National Bank of Georgia.
According to the information, equity of the banking sector is 1,796.1 million lari, or 16.8 percent of the total assets of commercial banks.
The banking sector of Georgia is represented by 19 commercial banks, among them 14 with the participation of foreign capita,l and the two branches of the foreign banks.
