Georgia is changing its telephone numbers on June 4, 2011, Business
Georgia reports.
Tbilisi will switch its six-digit numeration for a seven-digit one,
adding a "2". For example, the 76XXXX number will change to 276XXXX.
The code of Rustavi will change from 34 to 341. The first number of
phone numbers "1" will change to "2". For example, a number 15XXXX
will be 25XXXX. The following combination will be needed to make calls
from other regions: 341-2X-XX-XX.
Other municipalities and autonomies will have a six-digit numbering
system. Local numbers will have a "2" added. Kutaisi will have 3XXXX
numbers changed to 23XXXX. Calling Kutaisi from abroad will require
the following combination: 421 23XXXX.
