The cost of the full-scale development [second stage]of the gas field Shah Deniz in Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is estimated at 20-22 billion dollars, said today the vice-president of BP Azerbaijan Seymour Khalilov, Trend reports.
This funding will require not only the construction of platforms and drilling, but also the expansion of the Sangachal terminal, the installation of compressor stations, laying of new pipelines.
According to Khalilov, the volume of necessary investments demonstrates the importance of the project. The first gas supplies are expected in 2017.
