Enterprises of Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Ministry and Turkish
companies signed contracts at the exhibition of special operations SOFEX-2010 in Amman (Jordan), APA Agency says.
The first contract, which was signed by Turkish company ASELSAN and production association “Optika” of the Defense Industry Ministry, provides for joint producing of night vision equipment and thermal observation devices.
The second contract presupposes military logistics for producing engineering equipment between the Radio factory of the Defense Industry Ministry of Azerbaijan and the Turkish Engineering and Chemical Industry company.
The Defense Minister of Turkey Vejdi Konul said “we began cooperation
with Azerbaijan in the military sector after Azerbaijan acheived independence, and this process is still going on”. It is well known that Turkey provides the biggest support for Azerbaijan in military sector of any country. Vejdi Konul answered a question about a possible military alliance with Azerbaijan saying “so far agreements and contracts have been signed in all areas of the military sector. We are children of the same nation and we are ready to work with Azerbaijan in all spheres”.
