Sturgeon fishing increases in Iran

Sturgeon fishing and production of black caviar have increased in Gilyan province, Iran.ru reports.

According to the head of the department on sturgeon matters under the administration of Gilyan, Shaabani, 1.6 tons of sturgeon flesh and 280 kg of black caviar were produced. In comparison with 2010 the volume of fishing grew by 65% and caviar production– by 37%.

Shaabani stated that the reasons for the increasing volumes of fishing are favorable weather conditions, fishermen training and tight cooperation between fishing unions and the Organization of Fishing Shilat.
