An agreement on construction of the Europe-Persia high-speed transit communication line was signed today as part of the visit to Iran by the Russian minister of telecoms and mass communications, Igor Schegolev, Itar-Tass reports.
The line will connect Oman and Germany and cross the territory of Iran and Russia. It will be a unique ground telecommunications route between the Middle East and Europe.
The project will be implemented by four states: Russia, Iran, Oman and UK. The destination points are Frankfurt-on-Maine and Muscat. A bilateral agreement between Rostelecom and TIC on development of business in the sphere of Internet services was also signed in Tehran today.
